We offer Wi-Fi calling, which allows you to make and receive calls over a Wi-Fi network instead of using your phone’s network.

Have you ever tried to make a call and the network coverage is weak or non-existent? Or been in a certain place where the call quality is poor because of the cell site? Wi-Fi calling solves these issues by using the Wi-Fi network instead, meaning you can make calls when your phone has little to no signal, and improves the quality of the call.

The other great thing is the person you’re calling doesn’t need to have Wi-Fi calling at their end.

Please note, Wi-Fi calling requires a compatible device to work.

Is Wi-Fi calling free?

You can use Wi-Fi calling at no extra charge – it’s included as part of your plan. Wi-Fi calling doesn’t use any of your data because you’re not using an app (such as WhatsApp or Skype) to make the call.

How do I enable Wi-Fi calling?

Android phones should have Wi-Fi Calling already set up. If you have an iPhone, just visit the settings menu to turn it on.

  • Go to Settings > Phone > Wi-Fi Calling and make sure Wi-Fi Calling is on

  • Restart your iPhone

Where can I use Wi-Fi calling?

You can use Wi-Fi calling wherever there is Wi-Fi. Some Wi-Fi providers may charge you to connect so check first before joining their Wi-Fi.

Important

If you make a call to the emergency services on 999 using Wi-Fi Calling, your access to emergency calls may cease if there is a power cut or failure, or a failure of your internet connection.

The emergency services may ask you to provide your location during the call, as the calling line identity (CLI) of your phone (your phone number) is not displayed.
