A guide to shortcodes

What are shortcodes?

Shortcodes are short numbers, usually between 3 and 6 digits, that you can call or text to access services that aren’t included in your normal minutes, texts or data allowances. These services often cost extra.

Shortcodes can be used to pay for certain chargeable services, such as entering TV competitions, voting on reality shows or making a charity donation. If you use a shortcode, the cost comes out of the cash on your Superdrug Mobile account.

What are they used for?

Shortcodes are commonly used for:

  • Entering TV competitions

  • Voting in TV reality shows

  • Charity donations

  • Sending messages to radio stations

  • Subscribing to alerts, content or promotions

Charges, pricing and service details should always be displayed clearly by the service provider before you confirm your purchase.

How can I use shortcodes?

Some shortcodes are free, and you can use these as part of your allowance.
